Correctional Officers by Malachi

A correctional officer is a person who guards prisoners. Their job duties include watching cameras, guarding prisoners, and locking cells. In order to be a correctional officer one must be careful and responsible. In addition, one must go to school to learn how to become a correctional officer.
To become a correctional officer you must go to a police academy. You will learn about weapons, law enforcement, and safety. It usually takes four years to become a correctional officer.
After some receives training they must pass a test and apply for a job. Some places that hire correctional officers include prisons and the government. A person who is starting off in the field can expect to earn $60,000 per year.

In conclusion, I think being a correctional officer would be cool. Some benefits of being a correctional officer are that you can get paid really well. On the other hand, the job could be dangerous. Overall I think I would like to be a correctional officer.
